Fiyah In Rasta Culture

In this piece of writing I am going to explain what does fiyah mean in the Rasta culture, as a purifying element of mankind. To begin with it is worth saying that fiyah has representations in almost all world’s cultures, through legends and stories and in the majority of these cultures it is seen as having divine origin. Fiyah for a Rastaman is of divine origin, an element sent on Earth to purify sinful lost souls and keep human race in inity.
This usage of fiyah is also mentioned in the Bible, so it shouldn’t be anything surprising about it. This is also reiterated by the fact that Hell is often seen as a place in flames, in which the souls of the sinners are tormented in order for them to get purified and later on go in Heaven, because of being already clean. To avoid this, the Rastas try to purify people’s sinful souls by converting them to the Rastafarian creed, this process being often depicted through metaphors that contain the cleansing element-fiyah.
So the main purpose of a Rasta is to convert as many people as possible, in order to help improving the world. More to it, a Rastaman has the fiyah inna his soul, his eyes, inna all his being, this helping him not to get vulnerable. This time, fiyah represents the shield that makes the Rasta different from the others, him having a pure heart, conscience and being open-minded, these making possible for him to keep the joy inna his heart no matter what. This fiyah makes the Rastaman untouchable, whereas the others are vulnerable and waek because of their frustrations of not being able to ruin the Rastaman’s happiness.
In conclusion, I believe that fiyah is the metaphor used by Rastas to show a pagan’s conversion to the Rasta creed or to explain the calm and joy that are specific to Rastas. So it isn’t a bad thing I don’t want the wrong being of no one, even I tell you sincerely that I wanna see lots of you burning, so we all can be purified!!!
All the Best!!!
